The My Thuan Project Management Board has recently submitted a report to the Ministry of Construction on the results of the pre-feasibility study for the Ho Chi Minh City – Can Tho Railway Investment Project.
According to the study dossier, the railway line will start at An Binh Station (Di An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and end at Can Tho Station (Hung Phu Ward, Can Tho City), with a total length of approximately 175.2 kilometers. The route will pass through five localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, and Can Tho City.
This will be a newly constructed railway line serving both passenger and freight transportation. In Phase 1, the line will be built as a single-track railway with a 1,435 mm standard gauge. In subsequent phases, it will be upgraded to a double-track railway in accordance with the approved master plan. The entire route is expected to include 12 stations and 3 depots located in An Binh, Tan Kien, and Can Tho.
